Ronald J. Lauter is a partner of Campbell, Lauter & Murphy, and has been practicing as a successful litigator and advocate for his clients since 1986. Mr. Lauter was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1961, and graduated magna cum laude in 1983 from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Deciding that law was his true calling, he attended Indiana University School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate (cum laude ) in 1986. Mr. Lauter practices law in both Arizona and California in commercial and tort litigation, and is the managing partner of the Arizona office.
Mr. Lauter prides himself on working closely with his clients, not only to resolve their current litigation matters as expeditiously and inexpensively as possible, but also to put in place preventative measures to avoid future losses. "By being proactive, you can substantially reduce your potential exposure to lawsuits - and successfully settle early those few that still arise."
Mr. Lauter is a seasoned trial attorney, with extensive experience in construction defect, personal injury, legal malpractice, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, mobile home park, employment, "lemon law" and other automobile related litigation, as well as other areas. Many of his cases are highly complex lawsuits with millions of dollars at stake, but he also enjoys handling smaller cases for companies who may be overwhelmed by litigation. "What drives me is not only my competitive nature and desire to win, but also the sense of purpose gained from shepherding a client through the judicial system."
His success in his cases has been obtained through a combination of hard work, grit and perseverance. Recently, he successfully argued a case before the Arizona Supreme Court which led to a published, leading case entitled Nielson v. Patterson.
Mr. Lauter takes particular pride in his writing abilities, which has allowed him to be very successful in winning cases through motions for summary judgment, thereby avoiding the need for trial. This has also allowed him to prevail in the various appeals that he has handled.
In his free time, Mr. Lauter enjoys scuba diving, tennis, biking, jogging, rooting for his beloved Indiana Hoosiers basketball team, and other social and athletic activities.
