Jason practices throughout California in complex insurance defense litigation, food and beverage law, and winery representation, including commercial litigation, personal injury and construction defect actions and construction law. Jason represents not only commercial clients, but individuals, for both plaintiff and defense cases. In addition to his representation of various business clients in Northern and Southern California, he has represented both general contractors and subcontractors, with a focus on exterior building envelope issues, involving, among other things, roofing issues, window defects, stucco, sheet metal, framing and waterproofing. He currently lives in San Diego with his wife, Chelsi.
Jason established the San Francisco office in 2007, creating a diverse client base in Northern California, including cases in San Jose, Santa Cruz, the Bay Area, and Sacramento. He has appeared before courts throughout the area, including San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, San Jose, Napa Valley, Alameda, Sacramento, and Placer Counties.
Jason was born in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Arts, with departmental honors in Economics. After working in the field of construction management and construction litigation, he attended the University of San Diego School of Law. He graduated in May 2001 and was admitted to the California Bar the same year. In addition, he has recently worked as panel counsel for numerous insurance carriers, including General Security, Zurich, Lincoln General, AIG/Lexington, and QBE.
Trial experience:
Jason's recent trial experience includes construction defect and product liability cases in San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Napa Valley and San Diego. Most recently, he obtained very favorable trial results on behalf of framing and painting subcontractors in Northern California litigation.
Jason has written and appeared before the Ninth Circuit, resulting in several unpublished appellate court decisions since 2001. He has mediated before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals - Los Angeles, and appeared in Bankruptcy Court on behalf of business clients. Jason started his legal career by assisting as "second chair" on several large complex cases, including Marshall v. Baldwin and Aviara v. Aviara, both in San Diego Superior Court.
