J. Douglas Caffarel

Douglas Caffarel is an associate at Campbell, Lauter & Murphy. Mr. Caffarel was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has lived in San Diego since 1987. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University in 1984 with a Major in History and received his Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola of New Orleans in 1987. He has been a member of the California Bar since 1988 and is licensed to practice before the Southern and Central Federal Districts. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.

Mr. Caffarel has extensive experience in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside Counties. He is an experienced defense litigator in all areas of personal injury practice. As an associate with the firm of Brennan, Collins & Machado, he was responsible for the management, preparation, and final arbitration of two of the largest dollar value amount cases in that firm's history. One case involved a plaintiff who had claimed an aggravation of a degenerative arthritic joint and hip condition as a result of an automobile accident. The second, and more intricate case, involved the wrongful death claim of a widow who witnessed the death of her husband in an automobile accident. Mr. Caffarel also has experience in claims involving elder abuse and professional negligence. Other areas in which he is experienced include construction defect, products liability and commercial litigation, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation and intellectual property.
